Mission Statement: The Mission of the Thomas E. Kerns Elementary School Guidance Department is to implement a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate guidance program available to all students encouraging respect for self and others while also providing the skills necessary to be successful ,lifelong learners in Academic, Personal, and Career Related areas.  The guidance program offers interventions that motivate and create positive change in students, creating hope for the future. 

Philosphy: All students can attain a level of success when surrounded by encouraging peers and adults that care and support.  Setting individualized goals and celebrating those achievements often ensure the continued success of students.  When implemented correctly, the guidance program should support student success wth goal setting, interventions, and the teaching of habits that successful individuals must demonstrate.
