Welcome to Mrs. Ward’s U.S. History. I have a true love of American history. I feel this love was developed and fostered due to caring and fun history teachers I had from middle school through college. History tends to be a subject that people enjoy with age unfortunately. My goal is to teach history in a manor that students will learn to enjoy it at a young age. As I like to call it we will “Link and Learn” our way through U.S. history concentrating on the concepts not just memorizing dates and events.

I want to encourage each of you to approach the course with a good work ethic.  We will cover material at a rapid pace covering all the major themes in U.S. History, so don’t allow yourself to get behind.

As a high school student, I expect you to be responsible, considerate, and respectful of both your teacher and your peers. It will be your responsibility to keep up with assignments including those missed due to absences and/or tardies.

I look forward to getting to know each of you personally. I hope that you will leave my class with a better understand of American history and its importance as well as a few fond memories of high school.
