The League Academy String Orchestra program is an exciting and rewarding program in which to teach. Our students consistently receive superior ratings in festivals and continue to perform outside the classroom in regional, all state, and community youth orchestra programs.
A few highlights from this year include:
- The Seventh and Eighth Grade Orchestra participated in the the Music Showcase Festival in Williamsburg, Va. They received a Superior rating, the highest rating awarded to a performing group. Our orchestra won first place among all of the orchestras and won the Grand Prize for the highest score in the Instrumental Division--bands and orchestras! Following our Festival Performance on Friday, we enjoyed a day of fun at Busch Gardens on Saturday!
- The Spring Concert on May 7 was fantastic! I was so proud of all of our players. Each orchestra played with a wonderful tone and great confidence. The quartets played with such maturity and musicality. I heard such nice comments about the performance. Congratulations!
- The Sixth Grade Orchestra received a Superior rating at the State Concert Festival at Blue Ridge High School. We enjoyed lunch and a time for celebration at Frodo's Pizza following the performance!
