What is it?

  • Building Construction / Carpentry is the study of the construction trades.
  • Building a house, furniture, and cabinets
  • Blueprint reading, surveying, estimating, and building codes

You will learn to:

  • Frame floors, ceilings, walls, and roofs
  • Make cabinets, stairs, and wood joints
  • Read blueprints
  • Survey job sites
  • Calculate estimates
  • Use building codes


What can you do with it?

  • Enter the job market immediately
  • Further your education at Tech or a four-year college
  • Start a career in management, sales, furniture manufacturing, or construction management
  • Own your own business
  • Get college credit!
