Physical Education at Thomas E. Kerns Elementary

Welcome to Thomas E. Kerns Elementary where physical education is an important part of every child’s educational experience. We must remember that we are not fully educated until we are physically educated. All classes are provided a variety of activities that are physically challenging, mentally motivating, emotionally healthy, and socially sound. It is our desire that through our physical education program, students will discover how important it is to be physically active for a lifetime.

· has learned skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities;

· is physically fit;

· participates regularly in physical activity;

· knows the implications of nonparticipation and the benefits from involvement in physical activities; and

· values physical activity and its contributions to a healthy lifestyle.
