Mrs. Atkins first became a National Board Certified Teacher (AYA/ELA) in 2001. In October, she recertified for another ten years. Attaining National Board status along with her Bread Loaf School of English fellowships, and being named a Top Ten Finalists for Greenville County Schools in 2004 are among her highest professional honors. She also holds endorsements for teaching AP Literature and Gifted and Talented students. She is a 1997 (MA) and a 2008 (MLitt) graduate of The Bread Loaf School of English. She holds a Masters Plus 30 certificate from the SCDOE. Mrs. Atkins currently serves on the Secondary Section Steering Committee of National Council of Teachers of English, her professional organization, and she is a founding member of the Bread Loaf Teacher Network and currently serves on the BLTN Advisory Board. |
