2011 Travelers Rest Cross Country
Congratulations to the boys and girls' cross country teams as they finished in the top 10 at the state championship meet in Columbia on November 5th! The girls finished 9th and boys finished 6th overall, and that is the highest finish in school history for the boys. The TR girl runners were Hannah Gillespie, Kayla Wiles, Brooke Jenerette, Deborah Kemmerer, Katherine Fields, Anna Crutchfield, and Carson Miesfeldt. The TR boy runners were Sam DiBridge, Charles Langley, Ray Covan, Josh Wilkinson, Matt DeHart, J Harvey Cleveland, and Bryson Ware.
Hannah Gillespie was all region (2nd overall - 19:38), all county (10th - 19:46), and all state (6th - 19:17). She also broke the school record for best time by running 19:17 at the state championship meet. The previous record was held by Elizabeth Embler (19:30). Congratulations Hannah!
Congratulations to the boys' varsity team. They finished 2nd overall this past weekend to Byrnes High School in the 15-mile Relays at Eastside High!
Congratulations to the boys and girls teams as they finished 8th overall at the Eye Opener Invitational. Sam DiBridge also finished 2nd overall in the championship division.
