About me:
I got my first teaching job here at Mann in 1995 through the Critical Needs program (now known as PACE). Prior to that moment, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wofford College with a B.A. in French and English, and then went to graduate school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. There, I obtained my M.A. in French Literature. I also lived in France teaching English for a year.
In 1995 I came to Mann to replace the much loved Marian Wilson, who had to retire due to illness. I have been loving it here ever since! In 2006 I earned National Board Certification in World Languages.
Since 1996, we have enjoyed a partnership with the Lycee Godefroy de Bouillon in Clermont-Ferrand, France. To date, Mann has sent seven groups of its students to study and be hosted by French families, and has welcomed as many groups of French students from Godefroy. Serving as coordinator of these exchanges during my time at Mann has been one of my proudest accomplishments!
There are two additional opportunities for students to continue their enjoyment of French outside of the classroom. These are "La Table Ronde" and "Le Cercle Francais". Feel free to get more details by asking either Madame Gallagher or me!
