Welcome to Jan Johnson's web
Here at League Academy, we are committed to the values of Physical Education, Health, Recreation, and Dance. Fitness enables a young person to reach a higher level of productivity and achievement in every phase of living, including education.
It is our aim in the Physical Education Department to help students understand the connection between Physical / Fitness activities and health, which will enable them to lead long, healthy lives. We try to prepare students to be active for life as they acquire the skills and self-confidence they need to participate in a wide variety of physical activities. We want to convince even the least active/athletic students that ACTIVITY IS FUN!!! Students can develop more self and social responsibility because many of the activities used are designed to help students learn how to work together.
We will go outside as long as the temperature is above 50 degrees at the beginning of each class and there is no precipitation or wind chill to deal with. We ask that the students dress appropriately for these activities so they can participate and not lose participation and/or dress points on these days. They may wear sweatshirts and/or pants that they bring from home. These cannot be items that have been worn to school. They cannot participate in any clothing: sweatshirts, coats, etc. that have been worn to school. They will still wear their physical education uniforms and put sweats on over top so they can be removed as they warm up.
We hope that your child will participate in the Physical Education Program with a positive attitude. We ask for your support and help to keep us a strong, positive force in your child's daily program.
The next two pages have listed our guidelines and rules. Please read through and go over these with your child. These sheets should be signed and returned.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.
