My name is Kathy Cook and I will be your child's math teacher this year.  I am looking forward to working with your child and welcome any communication with you so that your student will be successful!

    This is my second year at JL Mann High School. I have been teaching for 30 years.  I started my career as an elementary music teacher for 4 years in Georgia and Texas.  I then went back to school and got my math certification and have been teaching high school math for over 25 years.  Most recently I taught in Habersham County, GA and before that I was at Mauldin High School for 6 1/2 years.  I am glad to be back in Greenville County and at JL Mann. 
 
    Please take the time to look at the class expectations and course syllabus that is posted on this website.  This is only an estimate of the time we will take with each topic.  The syllabus is subject to change to meet the needs of the students in the class.  The more that you are aware of what we are doing, the more informed and involved you can become with your child's education.  

    Students and parents have access to the portal.  There you will be able to check grades and attendance.  This will help you see immediately if an assignment is missing or what your child's grade was on a test or quiz.   

    I offer extra help before school from 8:15-8:45 and after school on Tuesday and Thursday by appointment.  I feel that communication is vital to the success of your student.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
