Who is Kathy Hamilton?

• Converse College graduate with a BFA in Art, and M Ed in Gifted Education. Also a  
   graduate of Furman University with an MA in Elementary Education.
• This is my Thirty-first year of teaching and my twenty-sixth year of teaching
  Challenge. This is my second year at Augusta Circle Elementary and my first year at Gateway Elementary.
•My hobbies are sewing, reading, and walking for exercise.

The mission of gifted education is to maximize the potential of gifted and talented learners by providing programs and services that match their unique characteristics and needs.

• the gifted need a curriculum responsive to their individual learning rate, style, and complexity;

  To support mastery of core areas of learning at a pace and depth appropriate for
    gifted and talented learners
  
  To develop an understanding of the concepts, themes, and issues which are
    fundamental to the disciplines and an appreciation for interrelationships
    among the disciplines

  To develop critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making   skills
