On Monday, November 7, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. we will host our annual Magnet School Information Session.  This year, as like last year, the event will be held at Hillcrest Middle School.  Hillcrest Middle School is located at 510 Garrison Road, Simpsonville, SC.  In addition to the few facts below, you can view each schools website at

Carolina High School and Academy of Pre-Engineering Technology and Health Professions is the school where tradition meets technology. Computers in every classroom provide state-of-the-art tools that actively engage students in learning. Greenville Senior High School Academy of Law, Finance, and Business offers broad exposure to the student’s chosen magnet strand .through an in-depth study of various topics and engagement in problem-based learning activities that extend students’ understanding of legal, finance and business issues and concepts in the twenty-first century. Students engaged in this challenging yet stimulating program of study will develop a better understanding of their field of study and be better prepared to serve the community.

J.L. Mann High School Academy offers an array of Advanced Placement courses taught by highly qualified instructors. A number of these faculty members hold doctorate degrees and have taught at the college level. Maximum use is made of technology in AP classes, as well as the mathematics courses which are preparatory to AP. Computers, as well as hand-held technology (graphing calculators and calculator-based laboratories), have become an ever-increasing part of the learning environment at the school.

Southside High School offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in grades 9-10 and the Diploma Program in grades 11-12. The International Baccalaureate Program is a rigorous pre-university course of study that features a unique international cross-curricular focus and exceptionally high standards of achievement.

Students apply to the Center and are selected on the basis of talent, interest, motivation, and commitment to their discipline and are able to study theatre, dance, visual arts, music, creative writing, or film and video production. The purpose of the Fine Arts Center is to provide advanced comprehensive arts instruction to students who are artistically talented and who wish to take an intensive pre-professional program of study. Students attend the Fine Arts Center five days a week in the morning or afternoon for 110 minutes of instruction, spending the remainder of their time in other academic work at the home high school.
