Greetings---
My name is Michael McMahon and I have been teaching in public schools since 1987. I graduated from Clemson University with a BS and M.InEd in Industrial Technology. I have taught Drafting in NC, KY, TN, GA and SC and coached varsity baseball and basketball---call me “Coach Mac”. I have been at Golden Strip Career Center since the 2000-2001 school year and also work at Greenville Tech in the Engineering Graphics Department. I enjoy preparing students in one of Greenville’s most demanded job fields. It is my hope that we can continue our success here.
It is my philosophy that all students need to be trained for a career, not just a job. There are many opportunities for success; it is a matter of teaching the proper work ethics in conjunction with mental and technical skills. The people who make the world of work go are the technicians and operators, not the ‘white collar’ bosses, so to maximize an employees value is a priority with my teaching. I hope to instill in my students to be self-sufficient and motivated with a sense of pride in their work in order to have a meaningful experience in not only my class, but in their lives.
