Expecting Excellence In Achievement, Actions, and Attitude
Welcome to Mrs. Hudson and Ms. Pearson's kindergarten class. We are looking forward to many exciting learning experiences this year. Please check out our website frequently since we will be posting new information on it each week.
Class Mission Statement: We go to school to learn our numbers, to learn how to read, to get smarter, and to prepare us for the future.
My name is Regina Hudson and I teach 5K kindergarten at Taylors Elementary. This year is my fifteen year teaching. I graduated from Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina. In 2004, I received my Masters of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. I have been married for 18 years and have one eleven-year-old daughter.
Ms. Robin Pearson is the instructional assistant. She has three children. Ms. Pearson has worked for the school district for six years. She enjoys working with children, making cakes, and reading.
"I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand." - Chinese Proverb. This proverb, in a sense, sums up my teaching philosophy. As a teacher, I feel it is most important to provide a safe and nurturing environment in the classroom. It is also important to provide each child with many different hands-on opportunities to help them understand the concepts being taught. Learning comes about from meeting each individual's learning style so they can take what they have learned and apply it throughout their life.
We are excited about working with you and your child this year. The staff at Taylors Elementary strives to maintain a positive atmosphere in our classrooms that will foster learning and provide an environment whereby the children will feel safe, secure, relaxed, and loved.
