Art Mission Statement
(created by Mrs. Smith's Art Students)

This year in ART class we will be creative with RIGOR.  We will use a variety of materials to paint, draw, and sculpt with clay. We will learn about famous artists and their works.  We will study art from many cultures.
Get an adult to do some art with you,
you will be AMAZED. Take the time.
Art is a place you go...a place that requires no words to say something.

Art is a place where you share a small part of oneself with others, even if they do not know what it means...

Art is .......
Art can be used as therapy.  Art is healing.  Art is good.

Art is something that can not be taken away from you.

Art is where you may excel when others subjects seem difficult and a struggle.

Parents: Please come join us any time, you may watch or participate in art class.

Does Art make you SMILE?

Parents:  Please read and embrace this year:
As your children enter the art room this year, I hope to promote self-esteem, self-respect and a love for the arts.  Abilities students learn will allow them to pursue art with excitement and pride.  As they look back at skills learned, lessons completed, and works created, they will not be intimidated by the visual arts but comfortable enough to yearn for more.
