Related Arts Mission Statement:
The mission statement for the related arts classroom is to inspire children
to become self-motivated, physically active, and creative learners.
Each week in music class students participate in a variety of activities aligned with National and South Carolina Music Education Standards. Many musical concepts are studied: pitch, rhythm, harmony, texture, form, tempo and dynamics. These concepts are developed through various musical skills: singing, playing instruments, movement, reading, writing, creating and listening. Students are exposed to music from diverse cultures, creating an awareness and understanding of how others express themselves through music. Feel free to browse the website for current musical news.
