Mission Statement
We provide educational experiences, in cooperation with the home and community, that prepare students for lifelong learning and for ethical, productive participation in a democratic society and the global community.
Steven Johnson has been teaching Social Studies at Riverside H.S. for 19 years and college History part time for 14 years. Mr.Johnson has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. and a Master's Degree in History from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Mr.Johnson also spent the summer of 2005 studying Asian Studies at the University of Beijing in China. In 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010, and 2011, Mr.Johnson spent his summers studying Asian Studies in Cambodia and Thailand with the AsianPacificEd program and has done research and wrote articles fo the Angkor National Museum in Cambodia as well as published historical articles in Military Heritage and Strategy & Tactics Magazines. Mr.Johnson brings his research into the classroom and works very hard to try to create an interest and fascination in Social Studies in his students at Riverside H.S.
