button We are glad you are visiting our webpage. You can use this webpage to learn helpful information about our class, the teacher, the students, and events throughout the year.

You will find that our class is very unique. Our curriculum includes many functional activities both on and off the school campus. Through Community Based Instruction (CBI), students learn needed skills in functional settings. Activities we hope to include  during the year are shopping in stores, ordering/purchasing in restaurants, and participating in community recreation activities such as Special Olympics. Leisure and social skills are provided through Community Based Experiences (CBE). Students are involved in a variety of inclusion activities with regular education students including our Special Olympics "Buddies" from Riverside High School and our reading buddies from Christ Church School.

Our students attend related arts classes including Art, Music, and Adapted Physical Education. They also receive instruction in the library and in our multi-sensory environment.

Our goal is to create as many "real world" opportunities for our students as possible. We believe this will help to prepare them for their lives after they leave school.
