Rules For Behavior

Classroom Rules:

1. Listen carefully

2. Follow directions

3. Work quietly

4. Respect others

5. Obey Teacher

Consequences:

The class uses a behavior reward system for classroom management. Each correct and/or appropriate behavior is rewarded with an edible or tangible reward. Time-out areas for each student are designated throughout the room and are used when the student needs to “regroup” and get his/her behavior under control. Each time-out is recorded by not considered punishment. If the student does not respond appropriately in time-out, the time-out room may be required. A Time-out Room report is sent home to the parent. Records of in correct behavior are kept on each student. Daily and weekly reports are sent to the parent.

Procedures for Non-Instructional Routines:

1. Homework is checked daily. The parent must sign the homework sheet daily. The signature indicates that he/she has seen the homework and that it is complete. Behavior reports must also be signed by parent.

2. All assignments must have the first name of the student on it.

3. The county tardy policy will be followed in class. All students arriving after 8:00 must bring a tardy slip to class before admittance.

4. Students are selected according to their behavior level for lunch and roll duty, line leader, and teacher assistant, calendar, and bathroom chart.

5. Students must ask permission before getting out of chair during class time.

6. Students follow school rules while walking in halls and eating in the lunch room.

7. Emergency drill rules are provided by the school and district and are to be followed by all students.

Presentation of Rules

Rules and the behavior system are displayed on the walls. Appropriate and inappropriate behaviors are reviewed and recorded frequently during the day. The parents are given an in-depth behavior report daily and weekly.
