WELCOME.

Thank you for your support of the Art Program.

We are anticipating a wonderful year in the Art Department in 2010-2011.

Our theme this year is Celebrating a Decade of Excellence. Each unit an interdisciplinary curriculum based emphasizing authors, illustrators, and artists.

Students will be given the opportunity to create through language arts, science, history, math, technology, and visual arts an illustrated piece based on the theme.  We are looking forward to working with you and developing the artistic skills of your child.  We will focus on the Elements and Principles of Design.  We will also emphasize Visual Heritage by learning art from various cultures.  If you have any artifacts, clippings, or information that you would share with us, we would greatly appreciate it.

Please make a note to remember.  We are requesting that you not send your child dressed in new or white clothes on days that the class has art.
