Classes Taught

Machine Tool I and II:

Machine tool I is an intro class to the exciting and rewarding field of machining.  Students will learn to read and draw blueprints, basic machine shop math, using and reading precision measuring tools, as well as the setup and usage of machine tools.(Lathes, milling machines, grinders.etc.) If you want to see some of this equipment in use click on the link below.

Machine tool II is a more advanced class where students will build on the skills they acquired the previous year.  In addition to the manual machining these students will learn the basics of writing programs for CNC machines, which is the industry standard.  The projects these students make are more challenging and are graded with closer tolerances.  They also learn higher level mathematics such as trigonometry, in some cases a higher math than they take at their home schools.
