P.E. is Tuesday. Your child must wear athletic shoes on Tuesday to participate!
Encourage your child to eat a good breakfast either at home or here at school each day. Ample sleep is also important. Children this age need lots of sleep. An 8:00 bedtime is not too early for them so that they are fresh and ready to work each day.
Please join PTA! It only costs $5.00 per member and everyone in your family including your children can purchase a membership.The money goes directly to our school and pays for things like scholarships for students whose families cannot pay for field trips. The PTA is also selling T shirts and car magnets with the Heritage logo.
Mrs. Silvers and I would love for you to volunteer in our classroom. We just have one request...please let us know in advance you are coming! Our schedule has changed and we are now doing literacy centers all morning. Having volunteers come in while we are in the middle of centers is causing the children to lose valuable instructional time. If we know you are coming in we can give you an exact time to be there and have an activity designed for another adult to do with small groups of children. If you want to come another time or even while we are doing centers we can leave something for you to do in the Volunteer Workroom.
We encourage you to have lunch any time with your child. Please meet us in the cafeteria at 10:35 for lunch. We are now doing a Guided Reading lesson as soon as we return from lunch and go to recess following that. We will now go to recess at noon and if you would like to join us after lunch at noon on the playground that would be great!
